Joy in Artmaking at TMS

The studio has been buzzing with creativity this fall as our Primary students make new art projects each week. The primary students have taken on a combination of product-focused and process-focused work. Though as I’m sure most of you will agree, at this age: PROCESS RULES!

Here’s why…. Through process oriented art our young learners will:

-develop confidence in their own creativity

-create their own narrative for their art works

-work together and respectfully share the studio

-explore a wide variety of traditional and nontraditional tools

-take on the responsibility of creating their own masterpiece….and cleaning up afterwards

-HAVE FUN!

It is essential at this age for students to explore their own process in art. Research by leading educators indicates that process-based art is instrumental in their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.

It is a privilege to work with each and every one of these little artists on their straw paintings, leaf people, vegetable stamps, spooky halloween bats and much more! Stay tuned for their next creations and check out some of their fabulous work below!
