Montessori Elevator Pitch

This year, Montessori Madmen, a self-described "ragtag group of dads and advocates from around the world," ran a contest that challenged Montessori professionals to answer “What is Montessori?” or “Why Montessori?” in sixty seconds.A minute to capture the essence of the Montessori Method, to convey it to someone who had never heard of it... Needless to say, the results are fascinating!Here is the pitch that got the challenge started:      Some entries (like this one that was awarded second place) provide an overview of some differences between the traditional model of education and the Montessori Method:      Some videos used a simile to provide a familiar point of entry:      Others used an actual elevator (and an actual Pink Tower!):      Finally, the winner was selected.      Brooks Gerber describes Montessori quickly, yes, but with clarity and depth.
