We hope you have had a wonderful summer!This information, intended for new and returning parents, will give you an overview of some of the important dates during the upcoming school year. Please contact Amanda if you have any questions.Your handbook will answer many questions about the school’s operating calendar, policies and procedures, and school events. The school's first four events are below:Sept. 4th 10am – 12pmOpen House: This is a time to visit, meet your teacher, find your child’s cubby, etc.Sept. 7th 5:30pmTMS Family Picnic at Crump ParkSept. 13th 6:00pmBack to School Night: Parent’s Meeting: All ClassesOctober 3rd 8:30amParent/Director Workshop: Montessori Philosophy: Practical Life & Montessori at HomeNew EventsBack to School Night: We will host an evening event on Thursday, September 13th at 6:00 p.m. during which parents will learn more about the school, tour all the classrooms (toddler through elementary), and meet the teachers. We ask that at least one parent from each family attend this important event.Schoolwide Closing Ceremony: This year we are bringing all of the “graduation” ceremonies together for a schoolwide Closing Ceremony on May 24th at 11:00AM. Look for more details in the Spring. We think it will be a wonderful new tradition for TMS.New & Updated ProceduresDoor Entry: Please note the code for the church office door is 7268# This code is active from 8AM until 3PM during the week. Please use the church office door to enter the building. For security purposes, all other doors will remain locked. When you leave the building, please make sure to check that the door has closed firmly behind you.Contacts Update: Please put director@tuckahoemontessori.org and 804-359-2754 in your contacts for all future school communications.Volunteering: The room parents for each class will be available at the September open house with volunteer sign-up sheets if are looking for ways to be more involved with the school. There is a wide variety of opportunities available.Student’s forms: Please be sure to return all of your registration paperwork. Returning families, it is essential that you update the enclosed emergency contacts/pick-up permissions forms for the current school year. You will be contacted by the office and asked to bring in any late items during the week of August 20th. Your child will not be able to attend school on the first day without a complete file. This includes a health form so please call your pediatrician today! The Health Form is posted on the parent portal as well.Primary Soccer/Gymnastics: Due to licensing requirements, parents are required to sign up for the extra-curricular course thru the provider so we will be sending out registration forms. Look out for emails in the coming weeks from Soccer Shots and CORE.See you in September!
